The Monkey Sanctuary is found near Looe on the south coast of Cornwall and has been caring for unwanted and ex-pet monkeys for over 45 years. Opening its doors from the Sunday before Easter to the end of September (and Autumn half-term) each year visitors are offered an intimate insight into a working sanctuary.
Experience monkey keepers give talks throughout the day on the individuals that have been rescued by the charity and the issues facing monkeys both in the wild and in captivity.
Not just home to monkeys; visitors are invited to explore the extensive wildlife gardens and pay a visit to the Bat Cave where they can see a natural roost of rare lesser horseshoe bats via a live video link.
